ALS Benefits Package


The combined ALS total benefits package is reconciled to the most recent Department of Labor Service Contract Act (SCA) Wage Determination (WD) for the Crane, Indiana area. Effective August 1, 2017, the Total Benefits Package is $764.40 per month based on WD 15-4821 (Rev-04). The Total Benefits Package contributes toward the cost of company contributions to the employee’s retirement plan, health plan, dental plan, vision insurance, and life insurance costs.


Full time employees of Applied Logistics Services are eligible for the following benefits:


Leave / Paid Time Off (Exempt Employees):

  • New employees (0-8 years) earn 10 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) per year.

  • Employees with 8-15 years of service earn 15 days PTO per year.

  • Employees with 15-25 years of service earn 20 days PTO per year.

  • Employees with 25+ years of service earn 25 days PTO per year.


Leave / Paid Time Off (Non-Exempt Employees):

  • Employees with 1-8 years earn 10 days PTO per year, after one year of employment.

  • Employees with 8-15 years of service earn 15 days PTO per year.

  • Employees with 15-25 years of service earn 20 days PTO per year.

  • Employees with 25+ years of service earn 25 days PTO per year.



HOLIDAYS: A minimum of eleven paid holidays per year:  New Year's Day, Martin

Luther King Jr's Birthday, Washington's Birthday, Good Friday, Memorial Day,

Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day, and

Christmas Day.


Health / Dental / Vision / Life: 
The Company offers comprehensive health plans compliant with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), a dental plan, vision plan, and life insurance plan with some or all of the cost paid by the company out of the employee’s Total Benefits Package.



ALS sponsors membership in the Aflac family of insurance products to its employees at the corporate rate. Some Aflac plans are ‘pre-taxed,’ equating to a 30% discount to the employee; and with most, the benefit payments are tax-free. The Aflac coverage provided are any, or all, of the following: Personal Accident Indemnity, Cancer Plan, Hospital Protection, Specified Health Event (Heart Attack), Short Term (6 months) and Long Term (over 6 months) Disability.

Retirement Plan:

ALS offers all employees participation in a Savings Incentive Match Plan for Employees (SIMPLE) Retirement Plan. The Company will match an employee contribution, up to 3% of the employee’s total base salary.



ALS provides for Bereavement Leave, Maternity Leave, and Family Leave; and provides Unemployment Insurance and Workman’s Compensation insurance for its employees.


ALS complies with the requirements and provisions of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Act (USERRA) as codified in title 38, United States Code, sections 4301-4333; and the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) of 1993.  ALS complies with Indiana statutes requiring leave of absence (i.e., LWOP), if required, for employees working as a volunteer firefighter or member of a volunteer medical service responding to a fire or emergency call.
